Local, area and state dignitaries, including State Speaker of the House Cameron Sexton, came together with Spectrum Communications to present a donation to the Friends of Cumberland Mountain State Park for the aviary renovation. Also present for the presentation was Senator Paul Bailey. The donation was $5,000. This, plus donations from individuals, takes the total to just over $17,000 towards the aviary renovations. It includes an amphitheater for educational presentations. Several different birds and owls will be featured, that were rescued and cannot survive in the wild.
