LOUDON COUNTY, LENOIR CITY FIREFIGHTERS BATTLE BRUSH FIRE

///
Comments are Off

A small fire meant to burn trash around a home grew into a large brush fire today behind a residence on Martel Road, close to the Knox County Line.

Firefighters from Loudon County Fire/Rescue, Lenoir City Fire Department, Tellico Village Fire, and Greenback Fire, responded to the reports of the rapidly spreading brush fire.

At this time, fire officials have the brush fire contained.

With extremely dry ground conditions, and no rain in sight, fire officials remind the public that if you’re going to burn on your property, be sure to monitor the fire for ambers that might escape and catch nearby ground on fire and to keep it away from structures and outbuildings.
