A call to a convenience store on Peavine Road in Crossville turned into the apprehension of a fugitive. Police responded there Labor Day for a possible drunk driver and encountered 36-year-old James Robert Eldridge of Crossville. Eldridge reportedly told officers he was using his cell phone and that was why his driving was erratic. However, Eldridge apparently failed a sobriety test. A check revealed Eldridge was wanted with full extradition in Bartow County, Georgia. He was charged with DUI and being a fugitive from justice.
