PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING KINGSTON FOSSIL PLANT SET

State environmental regulators will be holding a hearing tonight (Thursday, August 28, 2019) on a future expansion of the Kingston Fossil Plant’s coal ash and gypsum landfill. The meeting will focus on water quality issues including wetlands and streams. The public is invited to this hearing in the auditorium at Roane County High School Auditorium in Kingston. An informational session will be from 5 until 6 p.m. eastern and a public hearing will be from 6 until 8 p.m. eastern time. If you can’t make it to the hearing this evening, written comments will be accepted at the hearing and through September 13, 2019 via email to water.permits@tn.gov or by mail to the Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation, Division of Water Resources, Natural Resources Unit, William R. Snodgrass Tennessee Tower, 312 Rosa L. Parks Avenue, 11th Floor, Nashville, TN, 37243.
