1 KILLED IN VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON HWY. 127 IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

A two vehicle accident on Highway 127 North in Cumberland County yesterday afternoon claimed the life of a Fentress County man. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a 2005 Dodge Caravan driven by 26-year-old Donald Owens of Jamestown was heading south when he crossed the center lane and collided head-on with a northbound 2014 Volvo tractor-trailer, driven by 76-year-old William Hoop of Leesburg, Alabama. The Caravan then rolled backwards into a field where it came to rest. Owens died of injuries sustained in the impact. Hoop was not injured.
