IDENTITY OF MAN WHO JUMPED OFF HWY 70 BRIDGE IN ROANE CO. RELEASED

The Kingston Police Department this afternoon released the identity of the man who jumped off the Highway 70 bridge into the Clinch River Tuesday night. Rescue crews and police responded to the scene to start their search and to drag the bottom of the waters. After looking for a couple of hours, the search was called off because of darkness. It resumed early yesterday. However during the search, Rockwood police responded to a home to take a missing person report. Yesterday afternoon around 2:30, crews found the body of 35-year-old Robert Anthony Godsey from Rockwood. His body was taken to Roane Medical Center where the incident is being classified as an apparent suicide.
