HOME BURGLARY IN WESTEL STOPPED BY FEMALE

An alert family member came upon an intruder breaking into her uncles home in Cumberland County recently. Deputies state the female noticed a unknown car parked in front of her uncles residence on Highway 70 East in Westel. She went to check and confronted a burglar in the dwelling who threw a fire extinguisher at her and jumped through a window to escape. The intruder fled the scene towards Crab Orchard. An air conditioner unit valued at $900 was reported missing.
