TWRA INVESTIGATING BOAT EXPLOSION ON TENNESSEE RIVER

Several people were injured in what is being reported as a “boat explosion” on the Tennessee River Saturday. According to agents with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, the incident occurred around 11:15 AM about one half mile upstream from the boat ramp at Pickwick Landing State Park. Seven people were onboard the vessel at the time of the explosion. One person was airlifted with injuries, while the others were transported to a local hospital for treatment. A full investigation has been launched.
