A call for a trespasser at Walmart in Crossville early this week turned into the arrest of a fugitive. Officers contacted 29-year-old Randy James Wheeler, listed as a transient, who admitted he had a syringe and a substance he claimed was salt. It was later discovered as meth. A check revealed Wheeler was wanted in Kansas for felony evading arrest resulting in a vehicle accident or damage to property with full extradition. Wheeler was additionally charged with felony possession of meth, trespassing and theft. (The trespassing charge against Wheeler was from a previous shoplifting incident at the same Walmart three days prior to this incident).
