TBI agents are investigating the circumstances leading to an officer-involved shooting that occurred last night on the 2000 block of Montvale Road In Maryville. Deputies responded to the home after receiving a report of a domestic assault. Upon arrival, agents say 42-year-old Wendell Wilson of Maryville exited the residence with a rifle. Wilson reportedly ignored commands from deputies ordering him to drop the weapon and pointed the gun in their direction. One of the deputies fired his service weapon, striking Wilson in the hand. He was transported to a hospital for treatment. No law enforcement officers were injured during the incident.
