OAK RIDGE WOMAN POSING AS NURSE ARRESTED IN KNOXVILLE

Knoxville police have arrested an Oak Ridge woman who was discovered fraudulently working as a nurse at Summit View of Farragut, using the license of an actual registered nurse.

Police say Emily Elizabeth Barber’s resume claimed she held a bachelor of science degree from Western Governors University and Johns Hopkins University. Barber also reportedly claimed to have an associate’s degree in nursing from Pellissippi State Community College.

Authorities say Barber never took nursing classes at any of those schools. A police report indicates Barber had only a nursing license certificate from the Tennessee College of Applied Technology.

Knoxville police said Barber used the nursing license number of an Emily Victoria Brown – without the woman’s knowledge or consent.

Barber is being charged with identity theft and impersonating a licensed professional. She’s due to appear in court June 3.
