Cumberland County Deputy Shawn Scott was sworn in as a member of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Violent Crimes Task Force earlier this month at Tennessee Bureau of Investigation headquarters in Nashville. The Task Force comprises officers from local agencies across the state who work violent crimes.
The aim of the Violent Crimes Task Force is to bring agencies together in a network of resources to help reduce violent crime in their communities. Task Force members have access to training, manpower and other resources to assist agencies in solving cases quicker and with better prosecution. This means safer communities to live and raise our families.
TBI Director David Rausch presented Deputy Scott with his Violent Crime Task Force credentials during the swearing-in ceremony.
Deputy Scott has been with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office since 2013.
Cumberland County Sheriff Casey Cox said, “Deputy Scott is a seasoned officer with an impressive dedication to duty and a model for community service. He will be a tremendous asset to the Task Force.”
