A massive manhunt for the suspect in an East Alabama shooting has ended.

Multiple sources have confirmed 29-year-old Grady Wayne Wilkes has been apprehended about 8:30 CDT this morning near the intersection of Beehive Road and Wire Road. Wilkes had been sought in the Sunday-night shooting death of an Auburn police officer and the wounding of two others – one critically.

Officers responded to a domestic-disturbance call shortly after 10 last night in the Arrowhead Mobile Home community. Investigators say the officers were met with gunfire.

Local, state and federal agencies had taken part in the search.
