If you were wanted by authorities, it seems the last place you’d want to be hanging about would be in front of the justice center.
But 39-year-old Wesley Allen Massa of Crossville must not have considered that when Cumberland County deputies encountered him Tuesday evening in their parking lot.
Massa denied having ID on him and told deputies he was Wesley Young. Shortly afterward, he said he was Wesley Dobbs. Then he gave them a nonexistent Social Security number.
After he consented to a search, deputies found an identification card that identified him as Wesley Massa. A warrants check revealed active warrants from Smith County.
Massa was charged with criminal impersonation and held on the outstanding warrants. He’s due in court June 3.
