Rhea County Sheriff Mike Neal reports the seizure of 55 marijuana plants in various stages of growth from a home on Wolf Creek Road yesterday.

Deputies and detectives from the sheriff’s department executed a search warrant at the home of James Purdy, after receiving information about a sizeable marijuana-growing operation inside the home.

In addition to the 55 plants, deputies seized marijuana that had already been harvested from the plants.

Neal did not specify whether Purdy had been arrested in connection with the grow operation, or whether charges would be forthcoming.
