It looked real. It sounded real. But it wasn’t. It was a mock DUI crash this morning in front of CCHS, with hundreds of students watching. It was all part of a drill to demonstrate to the students the dangers of driving while under the influence. Crossville Police, Fire Department, Ambulance service and a Life Star Helicopter participated in the mock crash, along with CCHS students playing the ‘victims.’ This mock DUI crash was conducted ahead of prom night for both CCHS and Stone High School. A similar mock DUI crash will be conducted next Thursday at Stone Memorial High School. Prom night is Saturday the 27th.
