The Roane County Board of Education will meet for a special called session next Monday, April 1, at 6 p.m. at the main office. They’ll conduct their second-round interviews of two finalists, one of  whom may be selected as the new director of the Roane County School System.

The Board is seeking a new director after Dr. Leah Watkins decided to move back to her home county in West Tennessee to become director of schools there.

Former director Gary Aytes has been serving in an interim capacity, but did not want to return to a full-time director position after his retirement.
