Late last night, the Harriman Fire Department, along with mutual aid from Rockwood and Kingston departments, was called to a garage fire at Freer’s Automotive Shop on Russell Street. Kingston Fire Chief Willie Gordon said their units assisted Harriman Fire for about  an hour and a half  to help contain the fire, which was said to have partially destroyed the shop’s main office.

There were no injuries, and the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
