The Roane County Commission is scheduled to meet this evening at 7 at the courthouse in Kingston. Among items to be discussed will be several budget amendments. The Commission will also recognize the Harriman Middle School girls’ basketball team for their accomplishments this year, going to their first-ever TSSAA State finals. Also Carolyn Bush Roddy will be recognized for her contributions as a former high-school and collegiate basketball player who also achieved high marks in helping women in their basketball careers.
Finally the county commission will be asked to support the Environmental Review Board Committee, which wants to ask the commission not to support a new hazardous low-level radioactive-waste disposal facility near Y-12 scheduled for the future.
