Rockwood Police Chief Bill Stinett said the arrest of 41-year-old Daniel Lee Filyaw resulted from Filyaw’s fleeing from officers just after midnight last night when they attempted to pull him over for a routine traffic stop. The short pursuit started on Hall St ended on Furnace Avenue, where Filyaw was taken into custody for evading arrest, driving on a revoked or suspended license, driving under the influence, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of probation or parole, running several stop signs and violation of the yellow-light law. As of Tuesday afternoon, Filyaw remains in custody in the Roane County Detention Center.
