TWRA law enforcement officers, along with Polk County Fire and Rescue, Polk County EMA, Polk County Sheriff’s Department, State Parks Crews and U.S. Forest Service law-enforcement personnel, are searching for a lost kayaker on the Ocoee Number Three Lake, in the Tumbling Creek area.

The kayaker, a 68 year old man from Polk County, was reported missing yesterday, February 17 around 10 a.m. Eastern Time.

Search crews recovered a kayak, life jacket and a creel bucket containing fish. The search was called off yesterday at dark, due to unsafe conditions and resumed the search this morning at sunrise.

Crews are using a side scanner to search in water depths of nearly 25 feet.
