OFF-DUTY HIGHWAY PATROL TROOPER ACCIDENTALLY SHOOTS HIMSELF

A Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper accidentally shot himself Saturday. A spokesperson for THP reports that the trooper, who was not identified, was reportedly handling the weapon when it “accidentally discharged.” The trooper was not on duty at the time of the incident and quickly received medical care. The wound was non-life threatening and an investigation into the incident is underway.
