Nashville Mayor David Briley said Friday he plans to ask the Metro Council for half a million dollars in equipment upgrades to Nashville’s tornado warning system. Briley’s announcement came in response to criticism over the previous day’s sounding of tornado sirens fifteen minutes after the National Weather Service canceled warnings for the area.
