ROANE COUNTY COMMISSION & BOE TO MEET ON PROPOSED HIGH SCHOOL CONSOLIDATION

///
Comments are Off

Does Roane County want to consolidate their high schools? According to County Commissioner Ron Berry, the Board of Education will not end their quest for the commission to support the building plan that would combine Rockwood, Harriman, and Roane County High Schools into one. Last year, the BOE looked at the cost of renovating all three as opposed to consolidating with a new building. Last November, county residents voted down a proposed wheel tax of $50 that would support the plan. Both the commission and school board have planned a joint- work session on the subject that will include a presentation of the project plans. The joint meeting will be on Thurs., Jan. 31 at 6:30 PM at the Harriman High School Auditorium.
