MONROE COUNTY FUGITIVE APPREHENDED IN KINGSTON BASEMENT

Acting on a tip, Roane County deputies conducted a consent search of a home on the 400 block of West Ridgecrest Drive in Kingston yesterday evening. There they found 32-year-old Richard James Ashcraft, hiding in the basement. Ashcraft is wanted on a warrant from Monroe County, Tennessee. Upon confirmation of his identity, Ashcraft was arrested and taken to the Roane County Detention Center for processing.
