Tuesday, Crossville Police responded to a reckless driver report on Sparta Drive. The tan colored Dodge van had no tag and was stopped for a registration violation beside Kroger. During the stop, the front seat passenger, 26-year-old Rocky Darrell Davenport was observed tossing a plastic bag on the seat after he exited the vehicle. Davenport was also observed clutching something, which later turned out to be small plastic bags containing methamphetamine. In a search, police also found a small amount of marijuana on Davenport, along with drug paraphernalia and a pair of brass knuckles. He was charged with simple possession of meth. The other items were collected and destroyed.
