A Cumberland County student has been recognized by Secretary of State Tre Hargett for the outstanding essay on leadership and civic engagement that she wrote. Cally Copeland placed first in the 9-12 grade competition. Cally is from Cumberland County High School. The winners of the third annual Civics Essay Contest will receive a TNStars 529 College Savings Program scholarship and a trip to the State Capital to visit Secretary Hargett this coming spring.
