DRIVER CHARGED WITH VEHICULAR HOMICIDE IN DEADLY PEAVINE RD. CRASH

The man who is accused of causing a fatal wreck in Cumberland County over the weekend, appeared in General Sessions Court Monday. The Tennessee Highway Patrol has charged 40-year-old Jamie D. Richards with vehicular homicide by intoxication, DUI and vehicular assault by recklessness. He was also issued numerous driving citations. Saturday night, Richards was traveling on Peavine Road when he struck an oncoming vehicle driven by 88-year-old George Huxoll head-on. Huxoll was injured but his passenger, 85-year-old Bessie Huxoll, died in the crash. Richard’s bond was set at $250,000.
