A refrigerated semi truck trailer partially loaded with beer caught fire while traveling in the west bound lane of I-40 around midday Wednesday.  Crossville, Cumberland County and State of Tennessee ambulance, fire and law enforcement agencies responded to numberous 911 calls of a semi traveling west bound on I-40 with smoke coming from the trailer.  The driver of the truck was able to stop the truck and unhook the trailer just as it became fully engulfed in flames.

The west bound lanes of the interstate were closed for several hours creating a major headache for holiday travelers.  As of 5 pm central, the left lane has been opened and the wreckage was expected to be cleared from the roadway around 7pm tonight.
