A man was sentenced in Putnam County Criminal Court yesterday for attempted murder. Court officials say 71-year-old James Alex Greer received 18-years for attempted first-degree murder and a 6 years sentence for possession a firearm during the commission of a felony. Both sentences will be served consecutively for a 24-year sentence. The incident stemmed from an altercation between Greer and his wife.
