A vehicle accident in Cumberland County this morning resulted in three injuries. Troopers say a 2014 Ford Fusion driven by an unnamed 17-year-old from Knoxville was traveling west on I-40 at the 308 mile marker when something reportedly went wrong with the front end of the vehicle. The car left the interstate and hit a tree. The driver and a passenger, 18-year-old Nathaniel Ferrell Chandler of Knoxville, were taken by ambulance to Cumberland Medical Center for treatment of injuries. A third person in the car, 44-year-old Ashley Strittmatter of Knoxville, was flown to UT Medical Center for medical care of injuries sustained.
