A Fentress County individual was hurt in a single-vehicle accident on I-40 in Putnam County this morning. Troopers say a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu driven by 19-year-old Austin Gernt of Jamestown ran off the road at mile marker 289, went down an embankment, and struck some trees. Gernt was taken to Cookeville Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries. The report indicates Gernt was not restrained at the time of the accident.
