3RD ANNUAL HEROES AND PATRIOTS EVENT TO BE HELD IN CROSSVILLE

The Crossville Model Railroad Club will sponsor their third annual Heroes and Patriots Event at the Crossville Outlet Center Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 11 a.m..

This year’s event commemorates the centennial of the brave deeds that won Sergeant Alvin York the Congressional Medal of Honor and those brave patriots who served this country over the generations.

Keynote speaker will be Andrew Jackson York, son of Sergeant Alvin York. There will also be other speakers, music and the introduction of veterans of D-Day, the Battle of The Bulge and VE Day.

There will be a drill by the Cumberland County Young Marines, A missing Man Ceremony by Vietnam Vets and a Flag Retirement Ceremony among other activities.

The film “Sergeant York” will be shown after the event.

It is suggested attendees bring folding chairs as a large crowd is expected.

Also, hundreds of pieces of art are on display throughout the Crossville Outlet Center as Cumberland County Students compete for top prizes in the Heroes and Patriots art contest.

You can vote for your favorites in each age group by picking up a ballot at an Outlet Center merchant or the Crossville Model Railroad Club and depositing it in the box in front of the Railroad Club in suite 109.

Winners will be announced during the Heroes and Patriots event at the Crossville Outlet Center Saturday, October 20, 2018 starting at 11 a.m..
