The Oak Ridge Police Department released more information today about a vehicle that slammed into a business earlier this week.

On Tuesday, (September 18, 2018) at approximately 8 p.m., police responded to a reported crash with injuries at the Maytag Laundry at105 Tulsa Road, in which a vehicle struck and partially entered the building.

Upon investigating, officers determined that a verbal argument between two men had turned into a physical altercation. During the altercation, one man appeared to reach inside the other man’s vehicle and held on as the vehicle was in motion. The vehicle struck two other vehicles before crashing into the front of the building.

The man outside the vehicle then fired a handgun at the male driver, hitting him once in the arm. The male driver fled the scene on foot, but was soon located near the Oak Ridge Civic Center.

Both men were transported to hospitals for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The investigation remains open. No additional information was released by police, including the names of the two involved.
