A shooting at the school bus garage on Genesis Road in Crossville left three injured this afternoon, including the suspected shooter. Crossville police arrived to find two adult males and one adult female down in the parking lot of the garage. At this time there is no information available as to the identities of those people. Their conditions are not yet known, but Crossville Emergency Medical personnel were on scene rendering aid and an air ambulance was dispatched and landed at the scene.
At this time, statements are being taken from any witnesses, evidence collection is underway and the investigation is continuing. The Cumberland County District Attorney General’s office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have been notified and are currently involved in the investigation.
We want to stress that no students are reported injured at this time as this incident took place prior to schools being dismissed. All buses at the garage has been grounded until further notice as this is an active crime scene. The school system is working to utilize the bus fleet that is already out to get the students from the schools home so there may be a delay in students arriving home. Also, Genesis Road is closed at the bus garage while the investigation is ongoing.
