DALTON CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED HOMICIDE AFTER STABBING

A Fentress County resident is facing attempted homicide and aggravated assault charges. Officers responded to a home on Sawmill Ridge Road where 39-year-old Jeremy Dalton of Jamestown is accused of attacking Luther Byrd during a dispute. The report states Dalton grabbed a knife and stabbed Byrd multiple times in the face and the back of the head. Dalton then fled the scene. Byrd was taken to the hospital with the knife still lodged in his head. Byrd’s condition was not available. Dalton was taken to the Fentress County jail.
