Claiborne County authorities said this morning the parents of a 2-year-old boy who was accidentally shot in the head Saturday morning will not face charges. The child reportedly pulled the gun off the top of a dresser when it went off. The bullet reportedly hit the child’s head and grazed the top of his scalp. He had successful surgery at U.T. Medical Center and is scheduled to be transferred to Children’s Hospital. Officers say there were no signs of negligence by the parents.
