Tyson Foods Inc. has recalled more than 3,000 pounds of frozen breaded chicken products that were shipped to food-service establishments nationwide. According to the USDA, the products under recall could be contaminated with pieces of blue and clear soft plastic. The recall affects 12-pound boxes containing 3-pound plastic bags of “UNCOOKED, BREADED, ORIGINAL CHICKEN TENDERLOINS,” with a lot code of 1378NLR02. The tenderloins were produced May 17, 2018, and have establishment number “P-746” on the package. The products being recalled were not available for purchase in retail stores. They were only shipped to food-service establishments. The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Services team was notified of the problem June 8. They are now concerned some affected products may be in freezers at food-service institutions and could be served. Any institution that has purchased the products is asked to throw them away. Anyone with questions about the recall can contact the Tyson Foods Inc. call center at (888) 747-7611.
