Cumberland County Investigator Chad Norris has been named the Deputy of the Year. Sheriff Casey Cox told 105.7 News Norris has been with the department for 14 years and has served as an investigator for 11 years. Norris is part of the special investigations unit that handles cases such as child abuse and elderly neglect. “Chad does a great job for us,” said Sheriff Cox. “He (Norris) does his best to make sure that justice is served when it comes to children that are abused and the elderly that are taken advantage of or neglected. A typical investigator stays in that field for an average of 5 to 6 years. For him to be in his 11th year in this field shows his heart for everyone. Chad is an asset to our department,” added Sheriff Cox.
