18TH ANNUAL KIDS’ FISHING DERBY SLATED FOR JUNE 9

Saturday, June 9 is designated as Tennessee Free Fishing Day. To mark the occasion, the City of Crossville and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency are once again sponsoring the Kids’ Fishing Derby at Meadow Park Lake, 1437 City Lake Road (off Lantana Road). The event is free and open to kids ages 5 to 15.

All participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and each child should bring a fishing pole, tackle, bait and any other fishing equipment they may need.

Registration opens at 6:30 (the registration area will be open until 8:30). The welcoming ceremonies will begin at 7:15.

Fishing time for kids ages 5-8 will be 7:15 to 8:15. Kids ages 9-15 will start fishing at 8:15.

The final weigh-in takes place at 10, followed by lunch at 11 a.m. and awarding of trophies and prize drawings at noon. Trophies will be awarded to total-weight winners in four categories (Big Fish, First, Second and Third) in each of three age divisions:

Division I – ages 5-8
Division II – ages 9-12
Division III – ages 13-15
