Cumberland County deputies recently responded to a Matthews Road home, where they found the resident in the yard, suffering from injuries to his face and arms. He claimed he had been struck and stabbed by an unknown assailant with a piece of rebar, then robbed of $385, in the Claysville Road area. Deputies saw a syringe sticking out of the man’s pocket and found a small baggie on him. He said the needle wasn’t his, and he’d gotten it out of the truck during the altercation, to turn over to law-enforcement personnel. EMS took the man to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
