To celebrate the American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day, the public is invited to hike the Soldier’s Beach Trail at Meadow Park in Crossville at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 2. The hike will be followed by a free burgers-and-dogs cookout lunch, provided by Park Manager Marlene Potter and volunteers, at the Marina Pavilion, starting at 11:30 a.m.

Members of the Friends of the Trails are planning on carpooling to the trail head parking lot from Fairfield Glade. Those who wish to join the carpool are asked to meet at the Peavine four-way stop at 9:15 a.m.

Those wishing to bring their own lawn chairs are invited to do so, to supplement the available seating at the venue during lunch.

If you’re planning to attend, the organizers would appreciate your letting them know so they can make appropriate arrangements for lunch. To make a reservation, click here.
