BEWARE OF NEW MEDICARE CARD PHONE SCAMS

///
Comments are Off

Tennessee Senior Medicare Patrol has received several reports about a phone scam in which beneficiaries are told that the caller is from “Medicare” and they will be getting a new Medicare card. This much is true: Medicare is mailing new cards to all current Medicare beneficiaries through April 2019. But the scammer is asking to confirm name, address, date of birth and Medicare claim number. THIS IS A SCAM! Medicare will never call you uninvited and ask you to divulge personal or private information in order for you to get your new Medicare card. Also, there is no charge or fee for the new Medicare cards. If you receive any such calls or suspicious solicitations, hang up and call the Tennessee Senior Medicare Patrol at 1-866-836-7677.
