A long-time case against a former Crab Orchard town clerk has been dismissed after she paid tens of thousands of dollars in restitution. After learning the final payment had been made, Judge David Patterson released Pamela W. Hinch from probation after she met all stipulations the court placed on her. Hinch plead guilty in late 2001 to theft of property more than $60,000 after being indicted. Hinch had been employed by the city for about two years and the initial investigation focused on actions taken during 20 months of her employment. She was initially charged with theft of more than $60,000, two counts of fraudulent use of a credit card, eight counts of forgery and four counts of official misconduct.
