Roane County deputies responded Friday to a report of an unwanted person on the 1800 block of Old Harriman Highway. Officers say as they approached 23-year-old Trey Douglas Patterson, he entered the driver’s side of a vehicle with a knife allegedly in his left hand. Deputies ordered Patterson to drop the knife, which he did. When deputies asked Patterson if he had anything illegal on him, he reportedly said, “Please don’t do this to me. It’s in my bag. I need to see my baby.” After checking Patterson’s bag, officers found an orange container with two sets of digital scales, a small baggie of white crystalline substance, a hypodermic needle and approximately 50 small zip-top baggies. Upon searching the vehicle, a small hand-rolled marijuana cigarette was found in the change tray. Patterson was arrested for manufacture, sale and delivery of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and simple possession of drugs.
