SPARTA MAN RESCUED AFTER FALLING DOWN 30-FOOT TRENCH

Authorities say an unidentified Sparta, Tennessee, man had to be rescued in Putnam County while mowing his lawn yesterday. Officers and medical first responders went to a home on Pleasant Ridge Road to a report of a man falling down a 30-foot trench while mowing. Officers say the man was safely retrieved by the Putnam County Rescue Squad. He was later airlifted to TriStar Skyline Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
