A Monroe County man is facing several charges from a weekend carjacking in McMinn County. Officers were called to County Road 879 near Etowah where they found an injured Benjamin Crofts in the road. Crofts told officers he gave a ride to 25-year-old Brandon McGrail when McGrail allegedly pulled a handgun and threatened him. The two struggled before crashing Crofts’ car into a barn. Crofts managed to get out of the car and McGrail took off. Crofts was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. McGrail was arrested for vehicular assault, carjacking and aggravated robbery.
