BODY OF MISSING PUTNAM COUNTY KAYAKER RECOVERED IN SMITH COUNTY

The body of a missing Putnam County young man has been recovered in the Caney Fork River in Smith County. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency identified the man as 18-year-old Tyler Flanery. Officials say this past weekend, Tyler and his father capsized their kayaks near Betty’s Island in Buffalo Valley. Kevin Flanery was assisted to shore by bystanders, but Tyler was swept downstream.
