FIRE DESTROYS HOME IN MONTEREY

Monterey firefighters responded to a structure blaze Saturday night at a residence on North Chestnut Road. Crews arrived to find the back part of the two-story dwelling fully involved. The Putnam County Fire Department was called in to assist Monterey crews. The family of seven living in the home was not there at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported and a cause is under investigation.
