A vehicle accident in Putnam County last Friday resulted in three injuries. Officers say a 2001 Hyundai Elantra driven by 18-year-old Joshua Clemons went into the center turn lane on South Willow Avenue and struck a 2014 Ford Escape operated by 71-year-old Carlion Vaughn. Officers say Vaughn was waiting to turn into the post office when the accident happened. Vaughn and a passenger, 75-year-old Troy Vaughn, were taken to Cookeville Regional Medical Center while Clemons was flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
